design A typical garden design commission will follow these stages: Consultation: An initial consultation to discuss your ideas and aspirations. It is important to establish a clear understanding of your expectations and any special requirements. There is no cost for the consultation stage. Site Survey: The survey provides measurements for a scaled drawing and the gathering of information of the site. Whether it faces north, south, east or west. Access, location of drainage, proximity of buildings and large trees. A site survey typically costs between £30.00 to £120.00. Design Work: The design will synthesis the information from the initial consultation and site survey. A scaled draft plan is produced to discuss initial ideas. Following on from this consultation a detailed scaled drawing is produced showing the location, shape, style and size of key elements in your garden. A site analysis and planting scheme is also discussed at this stage with detailed costs to implement the scheme. The cost of the design is based on the size and complexity of the design required. A typical three-bed suburban garden will cost £240.00. Landscaping: A schedule and start date are agreed. Landscaping your garden turns the design plan into reality. It creates the physical structure or backbone of your garden and identifies the areas where the planting will be. All waste is removed from site. Projects can be undertaken in stages to suit your budget. Planting: Plants are sourced and delivered. Soil conditioning may be required before planting. Clients may specify particular species or maturity of plant and these will be sourced and supplied as they become available. In order to provide a flexible approach to planting, clients may choose to plant for themselves. The planting recommended will take into account a maintenance level to suit your lifestyle, with planting density and selection of specimens to suit your budget. Maintenance: Any garden we install we would be delighted to maintain. We can draw up a maintenance plan for your garden - so you can chose how much or how little you want to do. Over time your needs may change. A garden suitable for young children has very different requirements for someone who may be wheelchair bound. Two things are constant with all gardens: No two gardens are ever the same and we never forget it is a privilege to be invited in. |
